Nothing major, but it confirms that they have finished the film! Hopefully it gets picked up soon.

...Julian Schnabel is trimmed down, but still sporting PJs. He brought Rula Jabreal, author of the book “Miral,” and her daughter with him, both visiting from Jerusalem. Schnabel’s just now finishing his film of “Miral,” starring “Slumdog Millionaire’s” Freida Pinto as the title character. You think Freida Pinto is a beauty? Wait until everyone meets Rula Jabreal! Whichever film company releases “Miral” will have publicity opportunities galore. P.S. Schnabel says it’s his best movie yet. After “The Diving Bell and the Butterfly” and “Before Night Falls,” that’s saying a lot…

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lucy Punch is the next Nicole Kidman. In the new Woody Allen film, that is. The British actress wowed the writer-director with a screen test and secured the role in Allen’s newest film that Kidman had taken in March and vacated weeks later. The still untitled film currently stars Naomi Watts and Freida Pinto.

The relative unknown, who starred on the CBS series The Class and had roles in Hot Fuzz and Ella Enchanted, joins Antonio Banderas, Freida Pinto, Naomi Watts, Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins in the untitled project.

Letty Aronson, Steve Tenenbaum and Jaume Roures are producing, with financing from Spain-based Mediapro, which also funded Allen’s Vicky Cristina Barcelona. The film will shoot in London in the summer.

The Slumdog Millionaire actress took two-week-long tuitions to learn Arabic language. It’s heard that Freida’s role requires her to speak Arabic in some parts of the movie, as she plays a woman who speaks English with Arabic accent.

When Freida heard about her character, she insisted Julian Schnabel, the Oscar-nominated director, to get a private tutor so that she can learn the language and perfect her dialogue delivery. The actress is now in Jerusalem, shooting for the movie. Miral is based on a book written by Rula Jebreal about the account of Hind Husseini’s effort to establish an orphanage in Jerusalem after the 1948 partition of Palestine when Israel was re-created.
According to reports, the role of Freida in the movie is very challenging and the lady wanted to add perfection to her character and hence prepared herself prior to the shoot by learning Arabic.
