We have an awful lot to thank Danny Boyle for. Not only for his generally excellent movies, but the acclaimed director also brought Freida Pinto into our lives in Slumdog Millionaire.

Prior to her role in one of the biggest flicks of 2009, the impossibly beautiful actress worked as a model, shilling stuff like cheap cars and chewing gum to the good folks of India. After an extended stint on a travel show, Freida persisted with film casting sessions for two years before Mr Boyle decided she should fall in love with a lad with an uncanny knack for TV quiz shows.

On the back of her award winning turn in Slumdog, she has signed up with behemoth talent agency CAA, so we can expect to see a lot more of her in the future.

Woody is currently promoting is new film Whatever Works and was asked about his upcoming film starring Freida.

Is there anything you can say about the film you are preparing to shoot this summer, other than that it takes place in London again and stars Naomi Watts?

You know the full cast, right? Anthony Hopkins, Freida Pinto, Josh Brolin, Antonio Banderas. The cast is great. It’s a comedy-drama, I can tell you that. It’s a comic film but comic in the way that either Vicky Cristina or Hannah and Her Sisters was. It’s not comic like Bananas. This is real, with a serious side to it but hopefully a reasonable amount of laughs. Hopefully.

“Slumdog Millionaire” star Freida Pinto says that at the Oscars Ceremony, Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke had told her to go home because he thought she was too young to be there.

Rourke approached the actress at the prestigious awards ceremony February and advised her to head home to bed, reported femalefirst.co.uk.

“Mickey Rourke gave me a telling off at the Oscars. He said to me, ‘It’s way past your bedtime – go home,’ which was funny!” said the 24-year-old actress.

Break-out Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto says boyfriend Dev Patel’s eyes lit up when they met. The actors, who met on the set of Danny Boyle’s Oscar-winning film, were instantly drawn to each other during casting.

Freida revealed all to OK! saying: “He was 17 when I first met him. I walked into a room and this jet-lagged boy was sitting on a couch waiting for the girls to come in one by one. He just had this little boy-ish thing about him… his eyes just lit up.”

The couple, who are rarely pictured together, have struggled to keep their rumoured relationship under wraps after their co-star confirmed the rumours earlier this year.

Dev Patel’s mother also confirmed the news after the couple were finally photographed kissing last month.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lucy Punch is the next Nicole Kidman. In the new Woody Allen film, that is. The British actress wowed the writer-director with a screen test and secured the role in Allen’s newest film that Kidman had taken in March and vacated weeks later. The still untitled film currently stars Naomi Watts and Freida Pinto.

The relative unknown, who starred on the CBS series The Class and had roles in Hot Fuzz and Ella Enchanted, joins Antonio Banderas, Freida Pinto, Naomi Watts, Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins in the untitled project.

Letty Aronson, Steve Tenenbaum and Jaume Roures are producing, with financing from Spain-based Mediapro, which also funded Allen’s Vicky Cristina Barcelona. The film will shoot in London in the summer.

The latest news coming in for “Bond 23″ suggested that the latest installment of the superspy series is stepping closer into production with the hiring of its writers. For this new Bond movie, producers have brought in the Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Peter Morgan to pen the screenplay.

46-year-old Morgan, who is known for his work in “The Queen”, “Frost/Nixon” and “The Last King of Scotland”, won’t be working on the script alone though. He will be joined by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, who have co-written the past four Bond features that include “Casino Royale” and “Quantum of Solace”.

Ever since “Quantum of Solace” came out in theaters in November 2008, speculations have been mounting on the development of “Bond 23″. Several actresses, such as Jennifer Aniston, Angelina Jolie as well as “Slumdog Millionaire” beauty Freida Pinto, have been rumored to be potential Bond girl. “Slumdog” director Danny Boyle was also caught in its helmer rumor.

So far, little is known about “Bond 23″, but two-time James Bonddepicter Daniel Craig is expected to reprise his role for the third time. Meanwhile, the start of production on “Bond 23″ has not yet been scheduled.
